EXT3 File System Corruption In Linux

Ext3 is the most popular file system used in Linux operating system. This is the most efficient and fast Linux file system. It was the first journaled Linux file system. It is the default file system for some of the popular Linux flavours. The Ext3 file system has several data structures for storing the file system information.

The popular name for these file system data structures are also known as metadata structures. The important metadata structures contained in the Ext3 file system are super block, boot block, Inode table and descriptor table. In Ext3 file system, both file contents and metadata are written to the journal prior to be written to the main file.

We know that the Journal is comparatively incessant on the disk, this can improve system performance in some circumstances. In other conditions, performance gets decrease because the data must be written twice. Ext3 file system is treated as a reliable file system as it uses Journaling methods. But there are some situations where you may find that your operating system can’t find the specified file on your computer hard drive and shows some sort of error messages.

These error messages are “File Not Found”, “Can’t open the file” and “The file is no longer exist”.

The cause of the problem might be due to corruption or deletion of Ext3 file system. In this case, the operating system can’t find the path of the file for that you have requested. In these situations, the data on your Linux hard drive becomes inaccessible and it can lead to the nightmare of data loss. In these circumstances, if the lost data was very important, it becomes necessary to recover them.

You can recover these lost data with the help of data recovery software known as Linux Recovery. Linux data recovery are special data recovery tools that can help you in recovering your lost data from Linux hard drive in cases where data has been lost due to File system corruption or deletion, accidental deletion, missing logical volume, virus attack or operating system corruption.

This software can recover the lost data from all flavors of Linux operating system Ext2 Recovery, Ext3 Recovery and ReiserFS file system
